Joe graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1970 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. During his distinguished military career, he served in a variety of command and staff assignments.
After retiring in 1992, he joined Camber Corporation and served as a task lead, contract manager, program manager, and operations manager in the Washington D.C. area.
In 1997, Joe became the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw the company’s transition from a closely held company to an ESOP company.
He became President in 1999 and, under his leadership, Camber became a 100% ESOP-owned company. In 2008, he oversaw the sale of Camber, creating 60 millionaires within the company.
During the 12 years Joe served as President, Camber grew from 450 employees with $61M in annual revenue to over 2,300 employees with $440M in annual revenue in over 30 offices around the world.
Joe retired after 20 years with Camber to pursue other interests including his newest venture, Alexander Consulting, LLC.
Rotarian; Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce in Huntsville, Alabama; member of the Huntsville Committee of 100; mentor at the Committee of 100’s Young Professionals.
Joe and his wife, Pam, a breast cancer survivor, support and donate to many breast cancer charities and charitable events. In 2009, their donation helped launch the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County, providing a way for other donors to support long-term philanthropic giving.
