We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious experienced Analyst candidate for an investment banking opportunity. Verit Advisors is a Chicago-based boutique investment bank focused on strategic alternatives for middle-market businesses. Our entrepreneurial platform allows us to provide differentiating advisory services that encompass ESOP Advisory, Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt Capital Markets, Board Advisory, and Valuation Services. The ideal candidate will have prior investment banking, financial services, valuation, accounting or corporate finance experience. The candidate should have a background in accounting or finance and should be competent in working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. A demonstrable interest and experience in working in investment banking, financial modeling, corporate finance, or valuation is required. You will be working directly with senior bankers on live transactions in a fast pace environment and have a broad range of transaction execution responsibilities and client contact across a variety of industries and transaction structures including ESOPs, M&A, Debt Capital Markets and Valuation Services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support fellow bankers with the valuation and analysis of M&A, ESOP, Debt Capital Markets, Valuation, and other corporate finance transactions
Lead financial analysis and modeling of valuation and transaction alternatives for businesses across a wide array of industries with oversight from senior bankers
Develop presentation materials for use in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, valuation, debt/equity financing alternatives, cash flow analysis and general corporate finance topics
Evaluate business operations, financial results, ownership, capital structure, industry and competitive landscape
Gain knowledge of and execute valuation analyses using the discounted cash flow, guideline public companies, and precedent transaction analysis methodologies
Coordinate efforts with deal team members across the firm
Embrace client-facing opportunities and responsibilities with transaction partners, lawyers, lenders, and clients

Requirements:

One to three years of prior experience in investment banking, financial services, valuation or accounting preferred
Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting and valuation methodologies
Aptitude in financial modeling and financial statement analysis with strong attention to detail
Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills
Highly competent working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Team player able to balance and prioritize multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
Highly motivated, independent and interested in working in an entrepreneurial boutique environment
