Verit Advisors to Speak at Midwest ESOP Conference
Five Verit Advisors employees will present at the Midwest ESOP conference on September 11-12, 2014 in Oak Brook, Illinois. The theme of the conference is “ESOPs Move Us Forward.” More than 400 attendees from seven Midwest states are expected.
Peter Abrahamson, Technical Director for Verit Advisors, will join Verit Senior Advisor Stan Slabas and Kevin Kolb of Greatbanc Trust to discuss “ESOP Internal Loan Stretch-Out Transactions” on Thursday, September 11. Abrahamson has more than 15 years of valuation and investment banking experience, specializing in the valuation of business enterprises and individual securities, structuring ESOP transaction and executing public and private market capital raises. Slabas recently retired from S&C Electric Company after a 40-year career. He was S&C’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the last 20 years. Slabas is currently a member of the Board of Directors of S&C Electric as well as a senior advisor for Verit Advisors.
Verit senior associates, Kristin Ackerman and Patrick Kane will lead a panel discussing “Engaging and Motivating Young Talent” on Thursday, September 11. Their session will cover strategies company leaders can use to drive their young work force. Ackerman is a founding member and senior associate of Verit Advisors. She focuses on financial modeling, pitch materials, offering memoranda, management presentations and firm administration. Kane focuses on valuation, financial modeling, company and industry research and pitch materials for a wide range of clients. He works on the execution team helping advise middle market companies on corporate finance solutions including mergers, acquisitions, recapitalization and ESOPs.
On Friday, Neal Hawkins will be a panelist presenting on “Unique Structuring Issues for ESOP Transactions.” This discussion will focus on the unique legal, financial and corporate issues for both new and existing ESOPs. Hawkins joined Verit Advisors as Vice President in 2011 and has significant debt capital market and ESOP expertise. Hawkins works with private business owners on succession and transition alternatives which include the use of ESOPs, management buyouts, private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
